Just another day…
Drink? I like to drink ale to unwind.
What from? Lately, an entire Vampire Cult and several Ogres!
Ha ha ha, you must thing I mad or something, but I’m not. The name’s Lan by the way, buy me another ale and I’ll tell you about it.
I journeyed to Chorrol to join the Fighters Guild and decided to have a drink before moving on to Anvil – I know, I drink a lot, but then I’m Nordic and they say that we Nords have nothing to do but drink ‘cause it’s so damn cold.
Anyway, there I was sitting in the tavern and I see this chap in the corner getting really, really drunk. So I think to myself, I bet there’s an interesting story behind that and proceed to sidle over and talk to him.
It turns out that there’s nothing really wrong and I quickly gather that this is the normal state of affairs for this chap. He proceeds to tell me that people keep telling him that they saw him over in Cheydinhal – but the odd thing is that he swears blind that he’s never been there. Stranger still people, good friends of his, say he completely ignored them and when pressed pretended to not even know them!
This seems a little odd, thinks I and soon agree to travel to Cheydinhal to see what gives.
Anyhow, long story short, a lot of travelling later I return to Chorrol with none other than his twin brother – and that’s when my last few days got really interesting.
I soon discover that they're from some manor to the south but when they were young, a group of Ogres attacked and claimed it for themselves. The father took one of the children to safety and the mother the other, but in opposite directions and never the two have met again since!
These two are overjoyed at being reunited and press me to take a peek at their old estate to see if it’s safe to return yet. I guess that my Dai-Katana impressed them enough that they though I was some sort of fighter – which I am of cause, fully paid-up member of the Fighters Guild remember (although I’ve yet to take a mission with them.)
So I get on my horse and start riding south and soon discover the crumbling ruins of Fort Cormala. Now I don’t know the history but I know it looks abandoned, so I decide to poke my head inside the door in the hope of finding some handy loot – after all I don’t expect my drunken twins to pay me much to restore them to their estates. So in I stroll like I own the Fort and I find the corpse of a would-be treasure hunter. Now I’m a would-be treasure hunter as well, but my sword looks bigger than his, so I know I’ll be OK – that is until I go through the next door and get attacked by 3 skeletons and a Vampire! Yes, a real live (sort-of) Vampire!![]()
Having dispatched them, I had a tough decision to make, to continue or turn back. Naturally I decided to continue, the first Vampire didn’t really phase me too much, plus I’m quite stupid at times!
Seven more Vampires awaited an introduction to my Katana and they all got it – not much good on the looting front though, but what I did get I took to a handily placed village just a league away from the Fort. They weren’t pleased to see me and started shouting at me to leave – “No outsiders” and “You’ll only cause us trouble” were two of the taunts I got. But not to be deterred, I found a trading store and proceed the charm the lady running it and persuade her that I really would be a good idea to part with 300 gold for the tat I found in the Fort – hopefully that’ll bankrupt the village and force them to be friendlier to travellers in the future.
Having concluded my business in the village, I remounted my trusty steed and galloped off towards the estates I was sent to look at. When I arrive, I spy 4 evil looking Ogres wondering around looking more lost than I usually do.
Now a more cautious man than I might have thought about sneaking in and taking them one at a time or even going to get some more help, but me? I just dismounted and charged straight in – I guess that my sword really is sharper than I ever will be.
Turned out that Ogres really aren’t all that tough and die just as easy as Vampires! I did manage to progress to a Journeyman rating with my blade during the fight and that’s why I’m here having a drink. What’s your excuse?
What’s that? You want to know about the twins? Well they’re now living happily on their old family estates. I just hope that no more Ogres decide to call round for tea.

Ho wdo you join the fighters guild?
Very nice job at writing this blog Lan! thumbs up.
I was at Chorrol myself to join the Mages guild there.
As I was getting myself set in there, I picked up gossip on the same matter. A bit of a spoil this blog is.
And if the orcs and Vamps are not giving you a challenge, you should consider increasing the difficulty slider in the menu for more experience giving enemies, you wuss.
Oh joy, Hackdirt, the one village in all of tamriel I would delight in going to just to raze the village… or drop one of those goblin totem things.
Haha, to join the Fighter’s Guild talk to I think it’s Vilena in Chorrol, the orc in Cheydinhal, and umm.. Azzan in Anvil.
Below Hackdirt during the day is where the Brethren are. At night they patrol the town. I woke up at night to a Brethren whacking me with a mace. DIE!
Well, after that quest there is another one about those 2 brothers.
