Fort Carmala

So I stumbled across Fort Carmala completely by accident. Appearing out of the gloom in the middle of the night, Fort Carmala can barely be called a fort anymore. It's completely ruined, and more of it appears to fall away from the building on a daily basis. A large wooden door protects what were once the lower floors of the fort from the elements, although probably not for much longer! Upon opening these doors I was soon to realise that the gloom outside was nothing compared to what was inside. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust.

I was in a large corridor which seemed to run far into the distance in front of me, certainly further than I could currently see. Moving forward I could hear voices and what sounded like an argument. I soon realised that the corridor was in fact the ground floor of a large hall, and I was flanked on either side by a high wall topped with a balcony. Looking up at the balcony on my right I found the source of the voices and confirmed my suspicions that there was an argument in progress. Suddenly, with a sickening thud a blow was landed between the arguers and then the full horror of the situation became apparent. The arguer that had been struck fell quickly and was obviously greatly wounded, but to my absolute horror his assailant seemed to have seen me and now decided that I should be his next victim.

I'll recount what happened next, but please do not judge me on the words I speak. I was not intoxicated, and speak only what I saw with these very eyes. The attacker turned and ran straight through the wall, heading quickly towards the stairs to come and attack. I was dumbstruck. Should I run? And what was this abomination that was coming to attack me? I feared that it may be a ghost, and knowing that my blade carries no enchantments I panicked. If only it had been a ghost I would not feel the horror that I did when my assailant appeared before me. I raised my shield to block and realised that protruding from his mouth where 2 pronounced canine teeth. I had heard of such horrors as vampires but had never had the misfortune to meet one. My preservation instinct got the better of me and I turned and fled. Running towards the door I headed for the outside world and what I hoped would be the morning sun on the horizon. I figured no vampire would follow me there knowing the damage that it would do. How wrong I was.

I was just preparing to re-enter the fort in the hope that I could sneak past the vampire when the huge wooden doors opened and out he came. I could tell from the blade that he was a warrior, and whilst he would prove to be more than a match for me, he was no match for the power of the sun. He winced as he stepped outside, but his thirst for blood was greater. I knew if I could hold him off for a little while he would surely succumb to the draining effects of the sunlight, and sure enough before long he was laid in front of me, the combined power of the sun and my blade proving too much for him.

And so now here I stand over his corpse. No doubt more of his kind inside the god-forsaken place. But the vigour with which he attacked must mean that there are valuable treasures inside. And what kind of an adventurer would I be if I turned my back on such treasure? So I must return back inside and fight my way to the gold…

  1. …The attacker turned and ran straight through the wall, heading quickly towards the stairs to come and attack…

I never heard of that ever happening.:o
It might have been a glitch, or a Magic spell of sorts. there are a wide varity of spells, I’ve heard of such as walking on water and detecting lifeforms, but I never heard of passing through physical matter!

  2. dude i have fought 5 vampires at once
i don’t care if they reach me, because by the time they get 5 ft. from my character, they’re in a body pile, cause i did that to the soldiers at the bruma siege, ahh i ran like hell up the one tower, then i jumped all the way off the bridge, nothing in my mind besides destroying that gate… betcha nobody else would do that, unless you’re an acrobat character… p.s. don’t do skooma heh heh heh heh

  3. just to let ya know i’ve only became a vampire once.. it got boring after a while plus i was getting annoyed so i cured it but never without my own choice would i become a vampire…. ever slaughtered a village or 2 i have done more, but thats not the point, the point is that the grey fox is the koolest lol jk but vampires often had troubles infecting me, maybe cause i was a wood elf, so just get a wabbajack from the retard daedra prince, heh heh heh horsey became a daedra and slaughtered the vampire once

  4. how do you get to this fort and does anyone know where to find the shadow banish wine?

  5. I have stumbled across this place of hatred. I found the occupants asleep on their straw-filled bedrolls. I silently slaughtered them one by one. Capital! I was quite a way through on my journey towards the treasure when, from an unseen nook in the wall, appeared two vampire warriors and a vampire spell caster and multiple reinforcements charging down the narrow corridor. Being an experienced swordsman from my days in the fighters Guild I knew that they far outnumbered me and I bravely turned and fled into the welcomin sunshine. After clearing some distance from the fort I drew my ebony bow and silver arrows and engaged in a deer hunt. After that experience I have learned to sit at the entrance with my gray cowl on and observe any living or undead being in the area with the life detection enchantment. This is a time consuming but wise thing to do as then you have an idea of what you’re up against.

    Yours sincerely The Gray Fox

  6. You Find shadowbanish wine In a fort where this dude is getting hunted, you can only get there by boat and There a hunter inside. The wine is at the top of the fort in a chest. P.s I Got My Character To Like Level 34 With 100 Mythisim 100 Conjuration and 100 Illusion and 100 Alchemy. ( There skills are easy to level ) Problem is, My blad eis like 30 and Heavey armour is like 30, and Everyone walks round in glass or daedric. Any advice

  7. If your a new character, this could be your first experience with Vampires. This happenned to me. After you come out of the Weynon Priory to get Martin from Kvatch, should you decide to cut through the trees taking the most direct route, you’ll probably stumble on it, and gain a whole whack of experience for your new character. Then, go and sleep at the inn in Hackdirt to level up

  8. Can you explain how to get to Fort Carmala?
