It’s amazing what you can find…
So my travels have taken me to Skingrad. I've been a member of the Fighters Guild for a while now (hey show me a weapon wielder who isn't in the damned guild nowadays!) and so I found myself in the Guildhall in Skingrad when I overhear a conversation between a couple of other members about a couple of good goblin-hunting spots. Not wanting to miss out I decided to check a couple of them out. The first was a doddle, a gallop in the meadows if you will. It seems that goblins don't like my Dwarven longsword and many fell upon my blade. So here I am now in the second (and I'm not telling you where - this treasure is all mine), and the reception here was a little more heated shall we say. Fortunately it seems that I've managed to cause some confusion. I don't know if it's the bad light or not but it seems that the goblins are far happier to fight amongst themselves than take me on. It even seems that one of them preferred to fight one of their own war chiefs than try to battle me. Of course he fell, but it made the war cheif even more simple to dispose of, I even ended up unarmed to finish the job just to show my strength and power. So theres another dead goblin at my feet. And that's where things took a turn for the better. Wandering around after slaying the war chief I found a couple of chests that were no match for my lock-picking. Turning the corner I could see a shape on the ground but couldn't quite make out what it was. As I moved closer I realised that whatever it was it was very lavishly decorated with the faces of animals and goblins. It was also slightly buried in the ground so I thought I'd best uncover the rest of it. As my hand moved down to move away some of the earth I felt a tingling. I haven't felt such a feeling since I looted that Dispelling Warhamer from another ex-adversary. I'm guessing this thing could be magical. It also looks stunning. Not beautiful, it's covered in goblin faces of course, but stunning. The craftmanship is a thing to behold. It looks like a staff and being a basher rather than a blaster I reckon I'll have little use for it. But I am sure that it's worth a good couple of thousand coins if i can find someone interested in it. I hope the merchants of Skingrad have plenty of money left as this little beauty will go to the highest bidder. Now all I need to do is get out of here alive…

i am! im all black brotherhood.
You talking about the Goblin Totem Staff? The thing with a Goblins head on that has loads of charge (3200 / 4000 if I remember) and does a fair bit of damage (leveled damage…I got the staff and it did 40 pts of shock)
If you ever get your hands on one of the Goblin Shaman staffs(the ones that shoot lightning), you gotta try it out on one of the goblins.
If you hit them the right way(try hitting the legs), the puny goblins should go flying.
Very entertaining.
Also, there are some Goblin camps that have a special object, a flag or staff I think. If you take it away, the camp’s Goblins will hunt you down across the country for it.
If you go to a city, you can get the guards to attack them. (A nice distraction eh? ;))
Or even take them to another Goblin camp for a small war!
How about using it for dungeon crawling? The Goblins will follow you inside and probably wind up fighting the monsters.
yeah i play oblivion and ive found a goblin staff that was worth 40,000 septims. i nearly soiled myself. Not tellin where it is though. took weeks to find. Im level 97 yeah take that you.
I have found that many a cave crawl has ended up in my inventory being full of enchanted weapons and very expensive armour, not to mention chest loads of coins. The downside to this adventurous way of money making is that the wonderful treasures are guarded by monsters and spirits or some other fantasy creatures. Being the greatest thief in all of Cyrodill I really on sneak attacks to dispose of my foes but I have had some swashbuckling encounters but I am a skilled swordsman to so I have no need to fear. I first found out about this money making scheme as a mere errand boy for the Fighters Guild thus I worked hard and am now head of the Fighters Guild aswell as the Thieves Guild. I now sit on a large sum of one hundred thousand septims and to any who wish to share my fortune I offer you this sage advice:
“Pillage, loot, steal and take any thing you deem to be of value.”

After reading this thread last night I decided to go on a goblin hunting trip myself(mainly because of Dekedence’s post). After travelling to the nearby Goblin Jim’s Cave I found some interesting loot. I found numerous chests filled with forty to fifty septims a time plus a nice little room for alchemy in the first section of the cave. On reaching the end of the cave I found a normal sized rat layed out on a table. I thought this was an interesting thing as all I see are those oversized brutes of vermin. I was also able to sneak up on Goblin Jim and dispatch him with a sneak attack. I took his magical staff and left and on leaving ran straight into a Whiteskin war party. What they were up too I had no idea but like anyone would I killed them. I have also learned of a mod that is available called Goblin Wars BETA. On installing this mod every goblin tribe will have a totem of some sort. At each day the tribes War Chief will determine if their totem is missing and if it is then they will send out a war party to find it. Thus you can switch totems around and let the goblins destroy each other. Or, and this is my favourite option, you can take all the totems to one place and wait for all the goblin war parties to arrive and engage in a massive conflict. A war party consists of a War Chief and every other member of the tribe except the Shaman. Without the Shaman the tribe will go into disarray and disband. Every member of the tribe will respawn in their tribe’s lair except the Shaman who, if killed, will remain dead for the rest of the game.

Do you have to download a mod just so the goblins will go to war?
Yes it is a mod you download. After that you can enjoy the goblin wars.
