Holiday in Anvil

Anvil - docks and castleI’ve recently been on holiday to Anvil, a town on the far west of the Empire.  Being me, I couldn’t just rest in an inn for a couple of days are started to explore the city in search of some “holiday amusement.”

I started my tour of the city in the docks – Anvil is a sea port and very busy with boats coming and going at all hours.  Having not been on a ship before I saw one with good looking lass on deck – could be the “holiday amusement” I was looking for.  But it turns out that she’s all in a panic!  She owns the boat and reported to me that the Captain and all the crew were dead and that their souls have come back to haunt the ship.  She also informed me that she required a family relic from the ships hold – a crystal ball – and asks if I’d go and get it for her.  This isn’t the type of amusement I was seeking from my holiday but drawing my Katana headed into the ship to see what gives. Grave Robbers in the Imperial City

You may remember me telling you last night how I ran out of lockpicks a few days ago whilst on a job for a “committee” of merchants in the Imperial city.  Well I have now found some more lockpicks and have gone back to Agarmir’s house to finish what I started, I’ll tell you about it.

Inside Agarmir's HouseOnce more I took up my position on the corner of Agarmir’s row of houses waiting for him to leave, when he did I sneaked along and carefully, so very carefully drew out a lockpick from my bag – I didn’t want to break it you see – and started to work the lock.  This lock is so hard!  I broke a couple of picks trying to get in but eventually managed to get the lock open.

Of merchants, thieves and lockpicks

I was shopping in the Market District of the Imperial City a few days ago and went into one shop where I found out that the merchants have a “committee” know as The Society to regulate prices – I’m not too sure how I like this idea, after all it means that as a consumer I don’t get the best price in the big city, something that I’d expect to seaming as there’s so many merchants all touting the same wears.

Anyhow, this “committee” is having a little trouble with a new merchant named Thoronir.  Apparently the main trouble stems from the fact that he won’t join the “committee” and therefore thinks that he can undercut the competition.Thoronir and Shop

But wait, it gets better!  The “committee” has commissioned me to investigate the source of Thoronir’s merchandise – they seem to think that the only way that somebody can undercut their carefully inflated prices is to be selling stolen goods.  At first I wasn’t keen to take this job, but after going to his shop and chatting with Thoronir I decided three things: one, his stuff isn’t that cheep.  Two, his stuff isn’t very good and three, he’s a slimy git of an Elf!  Seriously, I’m no Elvest, but this one just really got to me.  It was perhaps this last reason that persuaded me to take this job.

Good day to all

Good day I say. I take the name of Theape. Let me tell you a little about myself. I come from Morrowind and my race is named the Dunmer's. We are a hardy folk who like to fight with the sword as well as the bow.

At the moment I am looking for a Vampire hunter that, to my mind has slain an innocent and should pay for his mistake. He is however making himself scarce. I will find him though, fear thee not.

Just another day…

Drink?  I like to drink ale to unwind.

What from?  Lately, an entire Vampire Cult and several Ogres!

LanHa ha ha, you must thing I mad or something, but I’m not.  The name’s Lan by the way, buy me another ale and I’ll tell you about it.

I journeyed to Chorrol to join the Fighters Guild and decided to have a drink before moving on to Anvil – I know, I drink a lot, but then I’m Nordic and they say that we Nords have nothing to do but drink ‘cause it’s so damn cold.
